Some questions

Sun Jun 16, 2013 4:48 pm

New to this forum and interested in arbing. My English is not very well, that's the reason why i maybe ask some questions that are answered in other threads... but ok, this is the newbie part of the forum.  ;)

1. What does it mean 'to get limited'? And what are the consequenses?
2. What would be the ideal amount to start with as a newbie? Was thinking about €1000 - what can i expect after one month (1 surebet/day)?
3. Wich 5 bookmakers do you suggest to start with (and are trustable when it comes to payments for example)?
4. Is it possible that the odds change after making AND confirming a bid?
5. Is it possible that a bookmaker closes your account? What is the consequense? Can you never play at that bookie again?

Thanks in advance.
Have a nice day!

Hi nahtanoj,

Welcome here from another new user and definitely newbie. Wait for more informed responses and from experts, but for now I can give you my answers to the matters.

1) limited: your max stake for a specific bet is lowered to ridiculous level. Ridiculous as in 10-20 euro or even 1-2 Euro. Especially if the odds are the low-leg of the bet, any arbing would useless, money wise.
2) Wait for more informed responses, but suppose 1k is divided in 10 accounts among soft, major books, exchanges etc, then
this would imply 100euro per account. Suppose you find a 2% bet on the mentioned accounts and that you are limited to 20 euro per side (just made up numbers), I would say a 50 euro bet each time, would give you 1 euro of profit per day.

With less stringent limitations and getting a very good arb (>4%, but not so frequent, especially on 10 bookies) you can double or triple that amount. On the other hand, at the beginning you can leverage on bonuses: so you should get much more money from opening accounts, than arbing. I guess that to double the 1k should not be difficult in a short period (let us say one month: because you will probably waste some time in getting money around bookies).

3) you find an excellent answer to this question given by Arbusers and another expert user in the newbie section. They specifically answered this question. I tend to remember Pinnacles, Sbobet, marathonbet, some other Asians, and then exchanges
(betfair, smarkets and betdaq). From softbooks: bet365, ladbrokers , expekt, and others. Please refer to the relevant post, though.

4) Yes: suppose you bet on horses and some horse will not start: it is possible the bookmaker will decide to pay less your odds.
Also in baseball if the designed pitcher will not start, your bet may be voided (which would be equivalent to 1.0 bet, no matter how high your odds were). There are also other cases in tennis; it depends on the bookie and on the event, but it is definitely possible.

5) Yes, it is possible. I guess you are not allowed to play at that bookie again. Nevertheless, according to my experience 'never' is a word which does not apply to the human species (as probably 'always' )

Have a nice day!
1. You are allowed to bet very low amounts (even less than 1 euro)
2. 1000 is low, but if it's all you can, go ahead. You can reach 10%, 15%, 20% or more. 1 surebet a day does not make sense. why only 1?. It's not a good idea to put all your money in one bet. If you have low balance, split in several bets.If not, you will end with all your money in one book very quickly.
3. Pinnacle, Marathon, Bet365, William Hill, Bwin. There are many more to chose to start.
4. Not normally, unless it's a palpable error (an odd that was clearly wrong when you placed the bet). Or in some rare situation. Never happened to me in more than one year (of course I got some bets cancelled because of delays, suspensions, etc). You should not bet if the odd is clearly wrong..
5. Yes. Your money should be refunded. Probably you will not play again under the same name/address, etc.

Your English is not so bad... You can search for yourself :-)
