Im unable to sign up with Smarkets from Sweden, when I try to sign up I get a message saying "COUNTRY_NOT_ALLOWED", Swedish players are 100% allowed to play on the site they even have it translated to Swedish. Support says they are working on the issue but it seems strange because it has not been working for about 2 weeks.
Anyone else has the same problem?
Maybe @arbusers has a contact at Smarket that can give us more info on when it will work again or if they are maybe closing down for Swedish costumers?

Oh thats a sharp take. I see that their Swedish license ran out the 14th of april. Either they are having an issue with the renewal or they will stop offering service to Sweden.

Actually Smarkets decided to cut every communication with us, and keep our affiliate commissions some years ago, with out providing any explanation that would make sense to us.
The Swedish betting market is in a turmoil these last weeks due to regulation.

Re: Unable to sign up to Smarkets (Sweden)
I was in contact with "spelinspektionen" (gambling authority in Sweden) and got the information that smarkets does not have a license in Sweden at this moment. They have sent in an application that is pending. Seems very strange that smarkets could not resolve this in time and halt trading in Sweden for several weeks due to not renewing their license in time.

Re: Unable to sign up to Smarkets (Sweden)
Smarkets kept a Swedish license from April 2020 that was expired on April 14th 2025. To my knowledge, it is unclear whether the company is about to renew it.
To operate legally in Sweden, Smarkets would need to renew its license through Spelinspektionen (Swedish Gambling Authority), and the cost depends on the type of betting license. But for Smarkets the cost would be some 34000 Euros for the renewal fee, and some 68000 Euros per year for ongoing supervision.
Seems that Smarkets believes that a market like Sweden, is not worthing an investment of 100.000 euros. Of course there must be back-end investments as well, to provide support and marketing costs, but overall, Smarkets will not invest in the country.
That leads me to 2 conclusions.
1. Swedes are very sharp players, or...
2. The market is very small.
Only an experienced Swedish gambler and Smarkets can answer.
