I think it's quite the opposite, despite what that article said. Bookmakers put more overlay on favourites to reduce liabilities. However, each case is different. Popular teams like Man UTD or Milan get backed a lot because of the name but honestly, I doubt you could ever find value on them this season. Bookmakers will offer short odds on them and they will still get backed a lot.
