How to arb with Matchbook 1 Percent Commission?
« on: November 20, 2013, 12:20:48 AM »

I got a question about this  and confused. I use scalpulator.com to know how much i have to wager on each side to do an arb. For example, i would go and type +105 for book A and +100 for book 2 and then put the to win amount as 1000. Then scalpulator would tell me how much i need to wager to arb the bet. This works if its 2 books that isn't matchbook and thus the +105 and +100 are the odds for the two wagers. Matchbook does the 1 percent thing so how do you do the math to scalp it? I done it but i always sort of do an estimate after using scalpulator.

For example say you could get +105 on a wager at another book. On matchbook, you can bet the other side at -103 which you would qualify as an arb b/c after the 1 percent commission, you still make a bit. However, if its -104 on matchbook, its not an arb b/c after the 1 percent you are losing money on the bet.

Basically i have to use trial and error. Is there a program that will do the scalpulator but factor in matchbook 1 percent commission.

I saw a game where one book has one side at -110 odds. Other side is +114 on MATCHBOOK. So for example do the risk amount as 100 to make it simple on scalpulator.com. So 100 to win 90.91 at book A. But book B is matchbook with +114 odds. Is there a way to figure out exactly the amount to risk on matchbook with +114 odds where you win the same amount from arbing when either book a wins or matchbook wins? I did a ton of trial and error and i got it to be 89.20 to win 101.69 on matchbook. So if the other book wins... i win 90.91 there. I then lose 89.20+ .89 commission so i lose 90.11 on matchbook so 80 cent profit. But if i lose on the other book... i lose 100 dollars. I win 101.69 on matchbook but pay .89 commission the 1 percent so i win 100.80 on matchbook thus i win 80 cent so either way... i profit 80 cents. The reason why i did this was to do some bonus clearing. But if you do this bet for 1k... you make 8 dollars and if you bet more... u make more risk free.

I know you guys know what i mean with this example but can someone tell me whats the correct way to get the 89.20 to be bet on matchbook? Basically i knew the amt was between 88-90 and just a whole ton of trial and error calcuations such as many times if book a wins i win 95 cent but if book b win i win 25 cent but have to keep making the number go up or down so both numbers meet up.

Can someone tell me if theres a program for this? If not... how to do this without the trial and error?

You can figure this out if you read the other thread on Matchbook http://arbusers.com/index.php/topic,1638.0.html .
