Costa Rica bookmakers without a gambling licence
« on: October 28, 2014, 06:46:07 AM »

Apparently bookmakers don't need a gambling licence if they have a company in Costa Rica.
One of the more famous Costa Rican bookmakers without a gambling licence is 5dimes.eu

There are also some others that look more amateurish.
Here are some of them.
www.bet724.at
www.funbet.ro
www.smashcasino.net
www.100bet.eu
www.bet.sh

Does anyone have any bad or good experience? Is it a big risk placing your money there? I feel "normal "bookmakers with a licence can treat us pretty badly anyway.

Costa Rican bookmakers are non-whitelisted by the UK Gambling Commission for UK punters and CR bookmakers are not allowed to market to UK Punters. I don't see how UK Gambling Commission could do anything about that though.

(I changed my question a little bit to be more clear...)

As far as i know Costa Rica does not issue gambling licenses and you don't need one to operate from there. I don't think there is anything you can do if problems arise with one of those guys.

Thanks Cristi. I changed some of my text to clarify my question.
Your reply makes sense.

I don't think jurisdiction should be a priority when choosing a bookmaker but rather an additional info to add to their reliability mark.
Jurisdictions like Costa Rica or Curacao mean absolutely nothing for the player and you have to rely solely on the bookmaker's reputation. Malta doesn't mean much either but at least their gambling commission exists.
It would be nice if someone with more knowledge could make a review about all jurisdictions and what they mean to the player.

About the bookmakers you mentioned i never heard about them and i think it's better not to venture there.
