Live Arbing books
« on: February 03, 2015, 12:21:49 PM »

I've only been live betting on exchanges so far. Yesterday I monitored the NBA live games in my pinnacle account and saw that they kept closing the money lines for sometimes as long as a quarter of the actual game. Is this a quirk of pinnacle or do other books do this as well cause it sucks... ::)

I think Pinny only open their lines during breaks in play.

so does this mean on the other books live moneylines are open throughout the game until maybe half a minute or whatever before the game ends? And does the same apply to tennis - does pinnacle also intermittently close the money lines?

Yesterday was crazy when I started looking at pinnacle three or four NBA games had started already and only about 10 minutes into it 1 (ONE!) moneyline for one of those games started to appear on pinnacle.

Pinnacle works in the style of american bookies in these live lines and they only take wagers when the game is stopped. You'll see this behaviour in other american bookies as well. Euro and Asian bookies have lines opened throughout the whole match until the last minutes, you have to be careful here as well.

I find it a little counter intuitive to say the least that with some of these books "live betting" in reality means you have about 5 chances of a minutes each per match to really live bet. Whereas for the rest of the match you're left twiddling your thumbs having to wait for a chance to place a bet  :o
