I did enter your bet manually, because you wrote this before the game started and I could place the bet in advance.
However, this will be last time I do something like this.
I will explain why. I hope you understand.
The first reason is that it is not fair to all participants. Maybe in the future some other participant has a similar problem, but I don't have the chance to place his prediction. I have other activities and I might be busy
The second reason is that this situation is explicitly considered in the rules of the contest:"We are not responsible for any error or problem that may prevent participants from entering predictions. You are advised to place your predictions with anticipation. We also advise participants to check if predictions have being properly saved. All saved predictions are displayed on the main page."
This might sound rude, but it's the only way this contest can work. We know errors can happen. We can only advise you to take all precautions to minimize them.
A prediction can fail for many reasons.
Maybe the user just forgets to press the red save button, closes session, navigates to another page or closes its browser. In any case he might think the bet was placed and it was not.
I know you won last edition, so I really doubt
that was the reason and maybe we had a problem with the application.
The application is not fault tolerant and errors can always happen. Servers can shut down or just have a slight disconnection. Internet connection can have problems. Concurrent connections may conflict. Even arbusers had problems today
. Many things can make a bet not being placed. But one thing I can assure (99.99%
). If you place a prediction, save it with the save button, go to the main page and the bet is there... Then the bet is confirmed.
I always advised (in fact I did it daily, by email, to all participants on February edition) to place your bets in advance and to check your bets. By "check" I mean leaving the "matches" page to the home page and see your prediction there.
If a bet is not saved, just go to the matches page and place it again. If it continues to fail, contact us. But please, one day in advance so we have time to work it out.
