Re: Changes to account verification procedure
It could be something similar to Pinnacle, their e-mail outlined to me that the next time I need to deposit I will have to provide verification, so maybe with neteller it will be a transaction or a deposit of some form.

Re: Changes to account verification procedure
if they have to follow the same regulation as sportsbooks, they can't just keep money from dormant accounts ... sporsbooks need to pay those funds to the gambling authority.csampion wrote: I had the same thought. Either they are forced to do this by regulations, or they see this as a way to get money out of customers, perhaps by closing non-compliant accounts and confiscating their balance. I can't see any other motivation other than one of the above, otherwise Neteller just wouldn't want to deal with the additional administrative burden this creates. Judging by their behaviour lately (screwing with the terms of their vegas promotion), it could be that this is just another way for them to get some one-off profits. Boy how I want to see Neteller go down the drain.

Re: Changes to account verification procedure
An update here guys, I'm sure you've seen the notice reappearing in your menu about identification. I decided to send on a copy of my bank statement, which I was told would be deemed suitable in a previous e-mail. I got this response:
"Unfortunately, the Utility Bill you submitted does not meet our requirements due to the below reason.
Your address verification document did not meet our criteria as a valid document for the purposes of verifying your address. This is normally because we cannot verify the issuing institution as a valid service provider. Please resend a different address verification document from a different institution. You can also send a letter from your bank that confirms you have a bank account, or a letter from your country’s government, as long as the document meets the criteria listed below.
To re enable your account, please submit a new Utility Bill."

Re: Changes to account verification procedure
Another update regarding this:
"Please note that there is blocked out info on the provided address verification document. Kindly resent the document so we can proceed with your current address verification."
So Neteller now want all transaction information from your bank account in order to verify. How long until the books ask for the same?
I was also told earlier "Please be informed that address verification of your account is optional and recommended, but not obligatory." That sounds like an easy way to get yourself in a trap down the line, when it becomes obligatory and Neteller have a large amount of capital in your account.

The books will ask for your cards, nothing else will suffice. Just the matter of time...Skaggerak wrote: So Neteller now want all transaction information from your bank account in order to verify. How long until the books ask for the same?
You're absolutely right. If you're going to use it have to verify it, asking for trouble any other waySkaggerak wrote: I was also told earlier "Please be informed that address verification of your account is optional and recommended, but not obligatory." Re: Changes to account verification procedure
I pressed this matter further with Neteller over recent days and was informed that the document has now been processed as verified, it took me an extra few e-mails to get this confirmed. Relieved it's sorted but leaves me with another issue from a service we try to do business with every day, it seems like every company just wants more and more information these days thats beyond the point of necessity.

Re: Changes to account verification procedure
If I'm not mistaken the majority of PG customers use them for gambling sites. If you exclude recreational punters who will use their cards who's left? I think more and more ppl will take the trouble of changing their ways and drop the fockers. There are other options, which no doubt have their own logistic complications, but at certain point so many ppl will decide enough's enough that they won't know what hit them.
