The well and the wrong are two sides of the same coin.
Everyone can act in both sides, just depends on the circumstances.
So, in my opinion, is more probably to find the wrong side of someone, in the countries that have a worse general circumstances.
Of course, i don't say that people from Africa are worse than people from Europe. We just have a better environment that invites us to act in a good way. If sometimes in the future the general conditions goes worse, we will see how the people becomes more unreliable.

Re: A gambling syndicate
I think I answered to all questions. Let me know if there is any question not answered yet.
I said before that regulation is not necessarily a bad thing for gambling. Being Eurocentric where every country looks to tax the air that we breathe we forget the rest 96% of the planet where many countries are gambling friendly. So whenever our European ears hear about regulation we usually run the other way. But this is not right.
Some years ago Colombia announced they would regulate the gambling market. Before regulation there was only anarchy where you could play in bookmakers but never be sure if you would receive your winning back. But even in this anarchy there was money to be made. Many syndicates were working with street bookmakers. Now there is a healthy environment with 13 bookmakers that you can play with. The number of bookmakers licensed in Colombia is bigger, but we selected 13 of them who are easier for value betting.
So we were trying to find our local head in Colombia as a starting point because we always start from grass route. We found our man in Medellín and we started making our plans. Yes I know what you are thinking about when you hear the word Medellín. This in not the case guys. We assembled a team and we traveled to Medellín. It took us quite some time to start our things with all the necessary network building and the gear needed for a safe environment. But while organising everything our lawyer in the city told us about some massive opportunities in the real estate sphere. I must say the opportunities were really massive and it would be a pity to let it go. So our bosses started another business in Medellín in real estate. Now the real estate business is bigger than gambling. We were lucky to be there during the golden years of the country.
To be fair I must also say that Colombia received a massive influx of immigrants from nearby Venezuela. No one knows the real numbers but they should be some 4 millions Venezuelans in Colombia. I know I will be mean but that was a blessing for us because we used this influx in our advance to help our business.
Why did we select Colombia? We knew some syndicates were already in the country and there were many street shops with the usual slow odds. The country was away from Europe where most smart bettors are and we though that would be a virgin land. And we were right. Then arbusers wrote an article about Colombia. And after some years when we started working, BetBurger started covering a couple of bookmakers. I said before betBurger must be a bigger company than we all think. So when you see them covering a new country there must be a good reason. At that time most thought why the hell they cover Colombia. Who cares about Colombia?
Well now you know who cares about Colombia. And we have value betting, casino and real estate in this blessed country.

How do you manage the runners with the pocket full of money there?
And, how much you can bet on a street bookmaker there?
And, how much you can bet online? You have to bet on "pesos" or "dollars"?
And yes, Real State in Colombia is incredible. I know, for very well trusted people, returns in Real State even more than 20% year.
You can buy a house for 40.000$, close to the beach, and rent it via Airbnb. The returns are between 1000-1200$ every month. Of course right now all of this is stopped because of pandemic.
It's so curious how this third world countries offer a lot of new opportunities that first world countries doesn't. Latin America doesn't have houses, streets, undergrounds, trains...., doesn't have a lot of things that we have, and for this, they have a lot of opportunities to make business.
It's insecure if you go with 10.000$ in your pocket, yes. But, if you have your money in your bank account, you can make a fucking lot more money than here, in Europe, and with less investment. We are not talking about a country in war like Congo. What i say is just that we always are focused in doing business in countries with less returns, with a lot more money invested, full of taxes, and full of competitors. In those countries there are no people with money, there are a lot of business to be done, less taxes, and the returns are much more bigger than occidental countries.

Re: A gambling syndicate
Maybe in your countries, you have properties that have an agreed price with the state.
This properties are normally for poor people, and, in this countries happened the same, but, even with this low prices, people there cannot access to that buildings, so..., after some months, they open it for the general public, and foreign investors.
You have to study which cities have more visitors every year. Colombia is so good because is in the middle of the continent, and because the warfare is almost finished, so, tourism is going up every year.

Re: A gambling syndicate
If a Nigerian associate makes 400 usd/pm, then he makes only half the median salary which is around 900 usd/pm. Now, if he pays your %, what is left for him ?. Perhaps, it makes some sence to them to take the money and go.campeones wrote:

When someone explains to you the method of his business, Know it stopped working or he encountered a problem which he can never solve.

Re: A gambling syndicate
I'm pretty sure he meant the associate makes 400 USD after he already paid the profit share so he would be left with 400USD. While this may not seem like a huge amount, keep in mind it's not exactly a hard manual labour job. Many people would love to do this as it beats working long hours at say factory or whatever.
