How would they monitor that ?
I don't think anyone is enforcing such fines.

Re: Arbing from Romania
I read some comments by lawyers in the news, they say such a fine can be be challanged, since it is not the fault of the player if he accessed such a site, it is the fault of the operator who did not block access. Also I think normally they should first send out a warning.

i also do think that these fines can be contested with ease...but the idea is that the environment is getting ugly.
if u guys get in the situation of getting such fines get some legal advice before paying..

Re: Arbing from Romania
Over these last years we have seen multiple laws trying to ''regulate'' gambling. Romania's is the ugliest by far and it seems that the government has strong willing to implement it.
Lawyers will always say that any decision could be challenged in court. This brings them clients actually.

I think they are taking the ips which have accessed the unauthorized sites from the ISPs .qbet wrote: How would they monitor that ?

Re: Arbing from Romania
What a fiasco...did you recive the mail from bet365 ? to call them for legal advice...they sold the players to the goverment and now they want the players to be on their team again.

Re: Arbing from Romania
Is there any proof for this? It would be interesting to know more about the way they reacted in a situation like this.ArberPro wrote: bet365 and bwin gave them the list with the players...
Could we have a look at this e-mail? Is it in English? If not, could someone translate it?ArberPro wrote: What a fiasco...did you recive the mail from bet365 ? to call them for legal advice...they sold the players to the goverment and now they want the players to be on their team again.

Re: Arbing from Romania
They clearly say that they will participate in the expenses of every legal action. Could someone contact them and ask how will they fund this?
This e-mail looks fair to me. On the other hand, if they indeed handed information about their clients this might be challenged also in courts against bet365, but still, I don't have legal opinion on this.

Re: Arbing from Romania
They gave the lists ,how do i know ? ONJN has everything from the accounts (including total rollover from 10sept-1oct),Romania hasn't got the equipment necessary to monitor and compile all the data (if they were from ISP's) in this short amount of time.
Now bet365 looks like a hero for the bettors (they've got the public opinion and the people are looking to sue ONJN) but in fact they are only looking for they're interest, maybe a part of those 50k people will sue them so they are trying to get them on their side.
ONJN did a good job for they're goals,i don't think they ever thought they will get the money from all the 50k fines but :
-they scared bettors from using unlicensed operators
-they found multi-accounts and big players (they ask everyone to go for an audit)
-they hit bet365 very hard (bet365 was always very arrogant and defied the authorities)

Re: Arbing from Romania
Bad news for all fellow arbers from Romania.Does somebody know if bet365 and bwin give them details of account who are active just last few weeks-months or all accounts in last few years?
We had something similar coming to Croatia but fortunately they decide to drop this for now but who know what ll be after new elections in few weeks.

Re: Arbing from Romania
I did not receive an email from them in my mailbox about this and I do not have the courage to access this site now for me it does not matter anyway, as my bet365 account is limited for over a year, so I am not using it. I read in the news about this legal support they offer.
