And that is where the problem with Smarkets lies and why they will never be a serious outfit, IMO.Alfa1234 wrote: Smarkets falls somewhere in between.

Maybe in your opinion, but clearly you know the reason they restrict your account is simply because you are taking advantage of a small technical loophole they have.
Are they entitled to do that? Yes, they can chose whoever they want as a client...are they ethically right to do it? Yes and no as technically they are an exchange and shouldn't restrict anyone...but you aren't just taking the regular exchange odds, you are taking advantage of a slight delay in the display of the true odds that just haven't had time to be corrected yet.

And obviously I know this is an arbing forum, and most arbers are up to something or other that the softbooks don't like and they therefore will limit you, but you have to be up to something way above the norm in order to get limited by otherwise no restriction bookmakers and exchanges, so obviously you are up to something way above the norm in order to get yourself closed down by Black Type and Smarkets. But the message is very clearly there on multiple occasions from two operators that are otherwise extremely understanding and non-restrictive in that they aren't going to accept your tactics, so either buck up your ideas or stop moaning that you keep getting closed down for playing the same funny games over and over with them.
The comparison you make with William Hill and Black Type and Smarkets is completely pointless. William Hill don't accept smart bettors, whether you're playing it straight with them or not, plain and simple. Black Type and Smarkets do accept smart bettors, but not if you play funny games with them. It really is very simple. You obviously just can't deal with just using Black Type and Smarkets normally to extremely easily avail yourself of their no restriction betting offerings, you just can't help yourself but try and take it that one step too far and play funny games with them, and in doing that you've got yourself got banned multiple times from places that the overwhelming majority of people have never had a bet rejected, an account closed or had any problems whatsoever. That's an awful situation that you've managed to get yourself into by doing some extremely dumb things.

Yes I do arb, but I play with a straight bat, and because of that, I've never got into any of the problems you've got yourself into.Ingarb3 wrote:This is an arbing forum, you do know that right?luctens wrote: Have you ever seen these multiple closing downs as just a small sign that these operators won't be allowing your funny games under any circumstances and that you either need to change your ways or clear off from these operators? The very clear message is that the overwhelming majority of William Hill customers (ie. the ones that aren't messing them about) are betting with them unrestricted with no problems, it's as simple as that. The very clear message is that the overwhelming majority of Black Type and Smarkets customers (ie. the ones that aren't messing them about) are betting with them unrestricted with no problems, it's as simple as that.

Secondly, who is complaining ? I make on average 2k with every Smarkets account and made over 3k profit this weekend with the last Blacktype account. My last Will Hill account lasted 8 weeks - compared to 1 heavy weekend with Blacktype. I just treat them both as another soft book. No complaining here.
If I'm up to something so bad, why do Betfair, Pinnacle and SBO welcome me with open arms? You're an idiot to think Blacktype is going to rescue the betting industry and allow smart bettors long term.

I agree. Of course they are entitled to do that. No complaints here. What I meant is that if they were a serious outfit then the tricks people use there wouldn't be possible in the first place. It points to a bigger problem.Alfa1234 wrote: Maybe in your opinion, but clearly you know the reason they restrict your account is simply because you are taking advantage of a small technical loophole they have.

You're obviously the one complaining, as you're constantly going on and on whining that you've been shut down by Black Type and Smarkets when the overwhelming majority can get on with no problems. You really need to get over it and stop moaning about it.
As I've already said, who knows what funny games you're up to that others will allow but Black Type and Smarkets won't allow. But the main point that actually matters to everybody is that if you play it straight and fair with Black Type and Smarkets, you'll have no problem, and if you play funny games like people like you do, then you'll have problems.
And you can only judge Black Type on the time they've been operational, and they've stuck to what they've said they were going to do from day 1, so there's absolutely no foundation whatsoever in your opinion that Black Type won't be around for the long term.
Re: Blacktype
I do play with a straight bat as I understand that although as an arber I am an enemy of the bookmakers, that doesn't mean I have to sink into the depths that you kind of people sink into, playing funny games and getting shut down by the handful of operators that are actually letting us get a bet on at all times.Ingarb3 wrote:Firstly, if you're an arber you're not playing with a "straight bat"!luctens wrote: Yes I do arb, but I play with a straight bat, and because of that, I've never got into any of the problems you've got yourself into.

If all you can come up with when you haven't got an answer to the points put to you is to call somebody a troll, then that's extremely pitiful.

Re: Blacktype
Does anyone know of a feed of blacktype horse racing prices? Or a site with them that can be scraped? It's not for arbing, just for records, so can be slightly delayed. Want to record black type prices on my selections at set times of the day, to see if they will be profitable if my current soft books close me down.

Re: Blacktype
I think Black Type compile and manage their horse racing prices very much through their own traders in-house so I don't think they use a pricing feed from any company or anything. They are on Oddschecker though.dejected wrote: Does anyone know of a feed of blacktype horse racing prices? Or a site with them that can be scraped? Re: Blacktype
Hi guys, new poster but I've been viewing for over a year.
Blacktype limited me to win £25 today and emailed me to say the "Trading Dept" think I'm using syndicates...bots etc and they are taking away my guarantee win up to £500.
I only use them for horse racing.
They stated that most of my bets were within a couple of minutes of the off and were therefore typical of certain software/syndicates??
The truth:
I find that Blacktype are useless with their odds until close to the off, where they appear to be headless chickens, pushing odds out instead of in and taking too long to correct.
I have no idea what "Bots" are....I am a regular trader who tries to beat the lines.
I've had a good run with them and they have, always paid out....every time.....thousands in a week and within two days!
It is unfortunate that they actually do restrict punters.
Thanks for your time.

Re: Blacktype
I read an interview with Blacktype. In it they said they will limit people who only bet odds that are above the exchanges even if they are value betting rather then arbing. Seen as how a huge part of their marketing is "we don't limit winning bettors" seems like they need to really clarify this because it look like this isn't true.
