Hello, everyone.
First I would like to thank for being allowed to be a part of this rich atmosphere.
I'm a 31 years old guy and have serious intentions to start arbing.
I have done every possible homework before I start doing arbitrage as well (reading and reading and reading), even having real awareness of the great possibility of making mistakes (I know I will).
I have read many topics on this forum, in order to add knowledge, and in fact, I have evolved significantly, considering I have read so many useful information, posted obviously by so many people with such experience in sports arbitrage.
However, I have a few questions which I earnestly request that you guys can help me with them. I will number them:
1- I live in Brazil and there are no bookies here, since it is not allowed by law, but it's not illegal to bet on sites outside of Brazil (in this case, all of them who can accept brazilians). Still, there is no agency or institution which can defend me in case of any problems with any bookmaker. The fact that I'm too away from bookmakers where I plan to arb, is there any increased risk for me?
2- I am using an internet service with 10 mbps speed, but with relatively high ping in relation to the bookies. Will this interfere negatively in terms of speed and effectiveness of placing the arbs?
3- I already have signed up to various bookmakers (approximately 20 by now) and I verified my identity on at least 70% of them, even before making the first deposit. Could this attitude turn against me, in case of the bookies knowing I’m preparing the terrain for arbing?
4- As I intend to start with an amount of 5k USD and initially planning to distribute 50% of my bankroll to Pinnacle Sports and the other 50% among other 4 or 5 bookmakers, what is the recommended total amount to spend in an arb (considering the 2 or 3 bets, depending on the type of arb)? I am very much worried about not being limited so soon, as I expect to face this after the 4th month (this is just a hypothesis).
5- In terms of alert service, I think about starting with OddStorm. Is there any objection to with my choice? Would you recommend any other?
Thank you very much for your attention.

Re: Questions before arbing.
What I have learned is that regardless of what you think you know about arbing, your education truly begins once you actually start doing it. You may want to start off placing small bets just to get used to the process and that will cause you to learn what problems may arise.
Some people who have problems with bookmakers use sportsbookreview.com for help.\
Don't worry about getting banned from bookies before you even start wagering.

I would avoid using assians for the first month. Start with softies that give bonuses in order to raise your bankroll and boost your morale.

Don't deposit all your bankroll in bookies. Let some money at an ewallet. You don't know if all money will go to a specific book and it's better to avoid withdrawing at the beginning. You will deposit again as you reach 0 on bookmakers.

1. Most of the players are in the same position like you. Only the UK guys have some realistic possibilities to be defended by the authorities in case that a bookmaker decides to confiscate their money. Your safety nets will be the authorities that offered license to bookmakers and in extreme occasions you could hire a solicitor from the UK or elsewhere. I have some thoughts in my mind by creating a service that will protect the communities interests worldwide, but I m in very early stages and my ideas must be faded further.
2. 10 Mbps is acceptable.
3. In general this will not be an issue. I suggest you don't deposit to all of them within a short period of time. It would be good if you deposited to each of them with a time lapse of 3 days or even more.
4. keep 40% in basebooks and exchanges, 30% in softbooks and 30% as a back up in e-wallets. You should use betfair also, do not limit your self to pinnacle strictly. A 5K$ bankroll is limiting your horizons. The maximum money enabled in an arb depends on the odds. In general, avoid situations that would lead to a tie of money to a soft bookmaker, depleting your funds in exchanges and basebooks.
5. You have to try all of them sooner or later. Take advantage of any free trial.
PS: Use arbusers deals. These are additional tools bringing you ahead of the competition, offering this little extra something that would make the difference when your bankroll skyrockets eventually.
Thanks for coming here.

wow, that's a statement and a half, arbing millionaires by the time they're 25???
many young newbies will be dreaming of this in their sleep, for most if not all that's all it will ever be....a dream
important I think for arbers, new and old to be realistic, this jobs so much harder nowadays.
good luck diegomazulo1983, let us know when you make your first million

The situation is more obvious when it comes to affiliation. The majority of the affiliates with significant size is about 23-25.
YorkJoss, you need to face reality...you are one of the dinosaurs here.
Re: Questions before arbing.
There are at least 5 people in this forum making a million per year (all figures in euros). Maybe more. The guys that make the most are in their 30s. It is a matter of time till we see someone younger taking the top. Comparing the audience of the old forum with the new, I can say that the average age is going down rapidly.yorkjoss wrote: wow, that's a statement and a half, arbing millionaires by the time they're 25???

This is a different thing. I m not inside their wallets, but many people here declare their winnings to the tax authorities of their countries, or, the tax authorities of more friendly countries. I would say that the small guys are those who avoid declaring incomes. Let's not broaden this discussion outside the questions of the topic starter.raizzak wrote: Good luck to explain at your IRS that you are not a drug dealer

but also as I'm a dinosaur know what I'm talking about, I have nothing to sell or ulterior motives for what

a business to run, it's a tough competitive arbing world out there

Re: Questions before arbing.
I m always encouraged by your innuendos. They keep reminding me that I m doing things right. There is an optimistic but true tone in my initial post in this thread. There is no effort from me to hide a difficult environment but at the same time there is no effort either to discourage people. On the contrary, there is a constant pessimistic tone in your sayings. I wonder why don't you quit this job if it is so hard. The fact that you don't quit, is a proof that there is still money to be made, no matter what you say.
It is a pity that a genuine newbie's thread became a field for personal confrontation. Other interesting threads became a junkyard disorientating people from their targets, mainly receiving answers to their questions. I expect a couple others to enrich it. Of course, like you, no one is explaining why they don't quit.

Re: Questions before arbing.
a guy from Brazil with 5000 dollars and a load of newbie questions starts this topic, you Mr arbuser start
talking about millionaires, I said to be realistic in relation to the original post, the correct answer for this guy
is not to talk about making millions but to be honest and let him know that things are tough, basically to be realistic
in what he hopes to achieve, what can be wrong with such an honest comment?
sure you need newbies for your business, there is no innuendo there from me, to talk up arbing and talk about
exaggerated earnings is good for your business but it is out of context in relation to the original post, he will
be very unlikely to make millions and would never have expected to anyway.
as for quitting arbing??? I must quit as I sometimes disagree with the extremely arrogant owner of this business....really?

You are changing the subject here. You have to quit arbing if indeed it is so difficult as you describe it in many of your posts. I will take your offense as a medal of honor. What you call arrogant created some very successful arbing and trading activities according to my opinion. It also created this forum that became a hub for many, including you.

The biggest part of my answer to diegomazulo1983 escaped from your attention. Let me quote it here:yorkjoss wrote: a guy from Brazil with 5000 dollars and a load of newbie questions starts this topic, you Mr arbuser start talking about millionaires, I said to be realistic in relation to the original post
My post encouraged YOU to give the correct answer to diegomazulo1983. This is a profit also.Arbusers wrote: 1. Most of the players are in the same position like you. I leave this to the judgement of everyone.yorkjoss wrote: there is no innuendo there from me
This is a forum about arbing. You should be expecting me and others to talk about arbing here. There are no exaggerated earnings mentioned. Do not expect anyone to raise his hand and say...''hey, I m making million''. You have to believe my sayings based on good faith, which obviously is not present by your side here.yorkjoss wrote: to talk up arbing and talk about exaggerated earnings
