Valuebetting with tipsters
« on: October 18, 2017, 09:29:17 AM »

Hello Everyone
I am looking lately the possibility to valuebet with pinnacle through this bot smarbet.io.
Its a service which automatically places the pics from tipsters you choose.
Now the final question is has anyone experience or info on valuebetting with tipsters?
I am not asking for anyone to give names here of the golden egg ..i know there must be bad tipsters and relatively good ones
So all i am asking is a confirmation for this,is a go but must find good tipsters?
or dont bother?

Endless problems with tipsters:  fake records, fake/stale lines, tipping lines after they've bet down all the value, using bad books, using soft books that will limit to peanuts quickly,, etc etc.

Above all, punters falling for meaninglessly small sample sizes, and survival bias.

look at blogabet.com, betrush adn pyckio
pros and cons:
- blogabet. Verified odds, many filtering options. Bloga using google recaptcha system to stop bots (even for free tips), like smartbet.io. So it is slow to get the tips. You need to sit at computer whole day and solve the captchas yourself or trust in humans that solves your captchas (this is a third party captcha solving service). The last one is slow compared to when you solve the catpcha (about 20-60 sec).
betrush:
Lot of good quality tipsters, check the records and filter the tipsters that are using asians. All tipster are verified here, so their records are valid. Personally, I have used many good tipsters from here, but they all become very bad in the last half year. So need to be patient, using tipsters is a long-term project.
pyckio:
using only Pinnacle odds, so only need to check the market size. They have also very good ranking system.

+1 BetAdvisor: they have many tipsters and they claim that they verify the odds. But I proved many times that some tipster cheated and BA never accepted my complaints about this. So I think their verification system is bad if even exists.

This is another common theme with tipster sites - they have the financial interest in promoting their top guys, and it tends to lead to dodginess eventually.

Pyckio is one I'd be inclined to give the benefit of the doubt to initially, given I know who's involved.

I find it extremely difficult to make money with tipsters, but I am sure that some people do it.
You might remember our projects some years ago to use tipsters and bet only in Pinnacle and SBObet. It failed, but we were that close. I am sure that a better selection of tipsters would do a better job. Personally, I would be happy with +3+5% per month as we are talking about surplus of money here.

I i would buy tipster service i would ask. What edge do u have?
For example tennis. Do u travel aside in circuits?Do u know players peronally they trainers. Have u seen somthing?Anything

Anything who claims that he has super system, BASED on historical values then i would pass it.
BETradar has all information+they add 5% juice every bet

I would like to have tipsters information based....

This is another common theme with tipster sites - they have the financial interest in promoting their top guys, and it tends to lead to dodginess eventually.

I have found that Blogabet and Pyckio are not cheating with the odds. Blogabet has thousands of tipsters and the paid tipsters pay commission to blogabet, also to become "featured" tipster too.
At Pyckio tipsters paid 50% of their profit to Pyckio. Also, this platform is the most expensive site.
I could believe that smaller tipster sites have financial interest manipulating the records, but not the big ones.

Pyckio is one I'd be inclined to give the benefit of the doubt to initially, given I know who's involved.

Why, who is involved? A criminal?
I have never found that Pyckio's tipster odds were not valid. There is no manipulation in the records. So the only problem could be is with their planned Investment Fund. But until you place your own bets, there is little risk if you follow a good tipster and using a good bank management.

I have followed good tipsters for about 5 years (started with arbitrage). The biggest problem that even the best tipsters couldn't handle the pressure when they have a long losing run. I mean longer than 6 months. Until then most of their followers leave their service and they work for no money. Very hard to get up from this point. Most of them simply give up and start another service with a different name. But this takes huge time because professionals follow tipsters if they have a long track record with thousands of bets and good ROC.
Another big problem that even with a very diversified portfolio of good tipsters, the unbelievable months happens, when all of your tipsters make huge losses (for example a typical losing month in the last 3 years was -6 unit for a tipster and suddenly the tipster makes a record month with -40 unit). And this could take even 2 or 3 months when no tipster makes any profit, some make about 0 EUR and most of them make loses. This happened to me many times. After this period it is very hard to judge what tipster needs to remove. Or should I decrease the stakes? But if you decrease stakes the recovery stage will be much longer.
Even with this big problems, it is possible to make good profits. Thanks to good tipsters I have quit my job 2 years ago and living from my profits. But slowly moved to trading with my bot.

Main problem is that scammers always explain it with bad downswing. Im profitable trader, but i have bad variance....

When u  know math. If u have edge 0.1%, there could be huge swings. But edge with 5%+ or 10% u basically dont have any variance
Problem is main tipster offer edge smth 0-1% Its like dark area, where all can claim, its just bad month

BTW i am valuebettor. Make 300 bets per week with 5% edge and i have never occured negative week during 3 year

No, the opposite, someone I'd tend to trust.

Before I improved my bets system I tested a lot of tipsters.I have tried out tiptersters from:

Blogabet - there are excellent boys, but he has to spend all his time because everybody gives advice when he whispers.I may have spent 14 hours at the computer and have no advice, leave for an hour or two and have 5 tips I will miss

Betrush - I have never met a good tipper on the top leagues here. There are great guys at low leagues, but their odds drop out so fast that at the end of the month, my profits account for only a 1/3 of their

BetAdvisor - This was a great place a few years ago, but after being sold to Asian owners, it just turned into a big scam

Pyckio - I have never tried them

the best tipsters I've ever used are three guys who do not publish anywhere. They do not easily accept customers because they keep their business from resellers. The only way is through a personal contact recommendation from an active client.I was very pleased with their work and made excellent profits.I have not given up on their services voluntarily, just their conditions have become too hard for me.One of them, a specialist in top football leagues, started working for a large Asian syndicate. They pay him big money on pint/profit.He still sells advice separately from the union but the price he has set is unacceptable  to me.The other dude is an American and gives American sports, the problem with him is that he wants a prepayment for the whole season. The third is tennis tipster, only ATP/WTA.very difficult to follow, basically live-tips, about 95% of all.Just skype, no sms or e-mail.But you must be constantly waiting.

Besides these three I have tried, perhaps 80-100 others. Some of them made some money for me, others lost a lot of money ;D.Every tipster has flaws, but If a person finds a good tipper, it is worth to follow him.If I had not developed my system I would have continued with these three boys despite their inconveniences.

To the author of the topic, my personal opinion based on my experience is that the tipping / betting process can be automated. But only if you find the right tipster.

One of them, a specialist in top football leagues, started working for a large Asian syndicate. They pay him big money on pint/profit.

That's a pretty common setup now - it needs even tiny profit margins and there's really good money to be made there. eg 200 bets per month at 1%, 25k stake, nets 50k profit a month average. Insane liquidity available there.

I'd say a syndicate that doesn't work on slim profit margins is a bad syndicate.
