Just collated my entire BF history since 2006 out of interest. It has nearly given me a heart attack the commission paid.
I am up overall exactly £103642.39
Commission paid £234801.01
Promotions/cashrace received £4825.00
Also received hospitality events 14 times, guessing £500 each totalling £7000.
Also factor in their Ewallet costs on my deposits at 2% which is £22500
So overall I have given them £200476.01 of profit.
Cant complain as they have made me that and some.
Anyway I hope they start to pay attention to their dying exchange soon!

Re: Is Betfair dead?
Last weeks the buttons on exchange became blurry, not react if I press directly on my prefered player and in order to place exchange bet I need to press back all or lay all and first remove player I not want to bet on.Maybe that is the technical issue which caused volumes down?

Nice. When did you place the bets? Before it was official what team they would use? Liked this oneDPG wrote:
I think I wiped out everyone on betfair on the Denmark v Wales match 2 weeks ago. Most people were thinking Denmark would be sending out a team of amateurs but in the end the 1st team played. Made a small fortune on that match. Traded Wales 2 ---> 1.44 and then Denmark 9 ---> 2.1.

That's pretty much Betfair's business model now. The money churns around in circles, and they make most of the profit.dealer wins wrote: Just collated my entire BF history since 2006 out of interest. It has nearly given me a heart attack the commission paid.

Betfair as a business partner. How unfair! I made the same calculation some years ago that brought me on a decision point.dealer wins wrote: So overall I have given them £200476.01 of profit.

I have to admit. Guys who invented betfair are geniuses. Even they fool some professional players. I am sure most of pros don't acknowledge how big juice they pay to the site. That 5-6% has always been insane for me.
But they are monopoly. They take any margin they want

Re: Is Betfair dead?
Yes before the dispute between the players and Denmark FA was solved. The squad had been announced containing lower league and futsal players but I read that squad could be changed and everything pointed towards a settlement or at least a temporary settlement in their dispute. The market on betfair had it priced up as if they were almost certain to play a weakened side so there was little downside to backing Denmark and a huge upside.Shawn2k wrote:Nice. Well done Betfair, adding new football leagues when liquidity scream for urgent help. It's like washing my car when I'm gonna scrap it anyway same day. There is a hope they sort it out one day but doesn't look like at all now...

Betfair is still a paradise for fixers. yesterday there were some outrageous movements and stakes on spanish cup matches, as exempla vilareal match with more than 1 million matched on over 2.5 with huge stakes , 0-0 HT... guess what 3-3 FT.

Re: Is Betfair dead?
Post some fixes here, I will be more than happy to benefit from them. But before, not after. I've been following fixes since years, got into really deep, wasn't doing anything else just monitoring every piece of dodgy stuff all days. Few years ago hit rate in BF was extreme high, I would say... 70% for evens. More maybe. Rarely anything gone wrong. Ukraine was extreme reliable, then Georgia, Belarus, Azeri, Uzbeks. When you saw lumps suddenly coming in it was like pattern, similar lumps, same time. Easy to read it. Then people started sharing and more of them following. Some people started lumping before it was clear game is fixed causing snowball bluffs. Loads of bluffs. People got crazy about betting fixes, they didn't care if particular odds swing was just team news or anything else - was fixed. Period. And they screwed everything. Me and my friend couldn't say what was fixed or what was just manipulated. If you havent watched the game you couldn't say for sure. You could before, just reading patterns. I remember games when there was 200k matched on second Georgia league, failing. Those of you who remember golden days remember for sure Baltija, Jurmala, Buzau not even mentioning Olimpik and other ukrainian teams. I've watched loads of streams those games were epic. Now? Liquidity gone completely. I don't even monitor games for fixing, to tired of that. Asia? Loads of moves every week, means nothing, can be everything. I spoke with people from Latvia, Lithuania, many players got arrested. I doubt you can benefit from them betting with asians/BF, softs maybe. Who cares if one of two games with large volume lands lately? Can be coincidence. Bet 1000 fixed games in a year and you will see.

Re: Is Betfair dead?
I can point particular games what I remember like it was played yesterday, high line of Laos defenders etc. Or overs in Albania being smashed all game long so wouldnt go higher than 1.2. Or Canadians CSL. Was on BF for a short period of time but priceless games. Im too busy now making steady money but I wonder sometimes why they left BF? Too much attention lately? Federbet crap? Even if shite liquidity here, still soft bookies cover dodgy games, they could make easy money. I doubt they stopped fixing games, they must be doing it more clever way. Fixing in BF was what dragged my attention to exchange, made some nice money so shame BF is dying.

Exchange revenue was up 1% for PaddyPower/Betfair according to their last quarterly report, which would suggest that Betfair isn't dying just yet.

Re: Is Betfair dead?
what annoys me now mostly is the liquidity, Limits on some matches are more like 200 to 300 euros to lay bets
