Re: new point of consumption tax in the uk
All the alerts should understand the need to change their calculators and help UK arbers now.
So you could set your asians or whatever in £ and softs in €.
Or find an extrernal calculator on your own, whatever suits each one's style
By the way, no news of any softbook moving away from the UK? Or changing behaviour towards UK?

i don't understand the obsession with using realtime or even daily fx rates. just use a random one, adjust once every month or so. one month you win some on fx, the other month you lose some, it's a zero sum game long term so who cares.

surely there's got to an opportunity for an agent to step in here and offer potential Uk clients
betting accounts for the asians and Pinnacle in £, there will be very many UK gamblers and
arbers looking for such a product.

which sent their shares reeling and now they have a "double whammy" to contend with, any UK arber about to start,
you don't know what you missed, the future of arbing? I am not optimistic about it at all, one by one the softs are getting
smarter and less profit to be had, there will come a day and maybe soon when they are all smarter, UK books have been
a goldmine, as with any goldmine, the gold gets less and less and harder to find, sure there are still some niches and we
might think we are the only one's who are doing them, we are not, what happens when these niches disappear? and they will,
every niche disappears and new one's have to be found, finding these new ones is getting more and more difficult.
Re: new point of consumption tax in the uk
yes of course but they will "cut their cloth" accordingly, already they have been hit by an increase in taxes on FOBT'sArbAttack wrote:I am not aware of any softs leaving the UK yet. I can't imagine they will TBH, they make way more profit from UK clients than they will lose from this new tax. Especially the soft books that have shops in the UK - they make a fortune from the FBOT machines in their shops. The profit from these alone would probably cover the increased tax bill. I can see why the sharps that have left, with no FBOTs and their low margins, would not be interested in serving the UK market, but i think there is more reason for the softs to stick around.Thordin wrote: By the way, no news of any softbook moving away from the UK? have many high rollers as customers, £500,000 bets taken by SBObet is not unusual, starliazrd would be out of business
with this new law but something tells me they won't be, they'll operate as normal and get round this tax and agents will
be involved, I have no insider knowledge of how they will get round the tax but they will, hopefully us much smaller
fish can utilise the same loophole as the bigger fish, with any type of tax there is always potential ways of avoiding it.

there are a handful of tipping companies in the uk who place large bets for their clients, one in particular star lizard whoBOOYAKA wrote: would it be illegal to use agents as i would be trying to by pass the new law?

the KYC process, someone from the UK placing a bet in a foreign country whilst on holiday is supposed to pay the
tax, the new law states it is a criminal offence with up to 6 years imprisonment for the bookmaker and part of the deal
of getting a uk license is that you adhere to this, for instance someone with a holiday home and spends 3 months a year
there cannot use this as his address as his main residence is still UK, the government is expecting the bookmakers
to do a thorough KYC check and basically threaten them with the law and their license if they don't, using an agent
with this in mind may be difficult as the bookmakers may try and establish the origins of the agent's customers, more
likely they will not but it is something to bare in mind before we can just expect to use agents to get round this issue.
Re: new point of consumption tax in the uk
part of this new law is that the onus is on the bookmaker to establish the main whereabouts of the customer throughArbAttack wrote:You would not be bypassing the law - the law is only applied to bookmakers, not to gamblers. If a bookmaker accpeted bets from UK players and did not declare their profit from these bets, and did not pay the new 15% tax on these profits, they would be breaking the law. But by using an agent, the bookmakers do not know the location of the gambler, so no-one has to pay any extra tax.BOOYAKA wrote: would it be illegal to use agents as i would be trying to by pass the new law?
