Affordability checks and the rules

Mon Nov 20, 2023 4:55 am

There is a lot of talk about affordability checks. But what exactly are the rules? Let's say that you officially earn X and you have deposited 2X and lost it within a few weeks. What does it mean for your checks? Can you pass it? What will happen if not, they close your account and send your money back? Are there exact rules in the new UK law? Or does someone have real experience?

In my opinion these policies about affordability checks are only about 1 rule: There are no rules for the bookmakers. They can do whatever they wish. Create hell for the winner while forgetting to check and stop addicts. Bet365 wouldn't make it better.

The petition seems to be stuck in the mud: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/649894 even though it started very well.
