These last years there is a twisted thought in my mind that makes me worry.

We all witnessed the so called regulation of the European gambling markets. In fact this is a fig’s leaf that will allow governments to nastily tax bettors, and/or allow certain corporate interests to profit.

We all noticed the gamble responsibly fever, an effort to protect and support the vulnerable. Don’t get me wrong, of course I support all genuine efforts that would protect and support the vulnerable.

But are you convinced these efforts are for the vulnerable? Frankly, I am not. In my opinion it is an unethical campaign to stop smart gambling disguised behind ''gamble responsibly'' and other euphonic slogans.

But lately, I started to believe there is an even more sinister effort unfolding before our astonished eyes. Fasten your seat belts.

European countries with the largest muslim electorate are the countries with the stricter gambling regulations, restrictions and laws. Some facts do not add up, unless seen under this prism.

Examples:
1. Some countries forbid any advertisement related to gambling, up to a point where it is not safe to advertise an e-wallet or an alert service.
2. The recent decision to move ICE from London to Barcelona. Maybe some people are sensitive to the gambling DNA of this conference?
3. London’s mayor, Sadiq Khan’s manifesto to end all gambling advertisements displayed across London’s transport networks. How do we know he will stop in transportation?
4. SOW and ''frictionless affordability'' policies that lead to a major stagger of the gambling ecosystem that will eventually result to job losses and corporate bankruptcies. Why kill the goose with the golden eggs?

In this world, the most intolerant will win. This is the dictatorship of the small minorities. In Islam, gambling and games of chance are a "grave sin" and "abominations of Satan's handiwork”. There is no tolerance in Islam for gambling. Thus, the intolerants in the end will win. The intolerant in gabling can’t live with gambling, while the tolerant can live without gambling. Take a minute to think about it.

Politicians will sell their soul to anyone in a Franz Kafka style. Why not to an Islamic electorate?

I simply hope all these are a product of my twisted imagination, but I have to tell you, my twisted imagination has been proven right more times than it has been proven wrong.
