Hi,

a couple of days ago I placed an arb (<0.5%) for bonus scalping. O/U 1.5 goals. The odds were about 3.7 (O 1.5). The result is 2-0 and the bookie I placed the O1.5 bet canceled the bet due to incorrect odds at the time placing the bet.

This is the first time something like this happened to me and I am asking you if this is quite common, because in my opinion this is a huge risk to every arb... I would expect something like this if I play arbs above 4%...

It is always the risk that bookie will invent some excuse and void the bet. More often this will happen if you are using unreliable bookies, like balkan bookies or so. Of course if you are placing bets on palps all will void, even Pinnacle.

The key to your answer is

which bookie (not all bookies are safe)
odds comparison (if you are unsure always check what other bookies offer)

What was the U 1.5 odds?
What is the name of the bookmaker?
What was the height of the stake?
What was the game?

3.7 for O1.5 ? That doesn't make sense. O1.5 is the most likely outcome and should have a price <2. So the u1.5 was about 1.4 ? Was that on betfair?
