I did open a new account and tried to bet right away....

Must say their limits are very low for a new account (at least before 10am (GMT+1)
Q: Could anyone confirm that Stanjames / Betpack are lowering limits during the night?

SJ is not lowering limits during the night. I ve no idea about Betpack, but i see no reason to operate in an other way.

So obviously my account is dead before the first bet! 

I hope you didn't deposit much there.

That's the info from their livechat:

We do not market to your country so there are automatic restrictions in place. You will only be able to place the amount offered.

But at least I was able to withdraw my Visa-deposit right away

They are similar. It is the margins that are different depending on each sport, some better on Betpack, some better on Stan James.
