In arbitrage we buy both sides. Just wondering with interest rates so low if anyone uses any sort of long term Forex strategy where they go both long and short against a currency pair cashing both in at different times in the oscillating up and down patterns that define the currency markets. With short term strategy paying or getting paid interest being just an afterthought.

I've been re-reading Vilfredo Pareto (1848-1923)'s works on political economy and it's had me brainstorming ways of isolating the 20% of Forex trades which will theoretically yield 80% of profits rather than dwelling on whether of not some of his ideas were a predecessor to Italian fascism.
