Flutter no longer a European company

Wed Jan 24, 2024 7:52 pm

Flutter Entertainment has ceased trading on Euronext yesterday, ahead of its expected launch on the New York Stock Exchange next week. Flutter operates under various brands including Betfair, Sky Bet, Paddy Power, PokerStars, FOX Bet, Sportsbet, FanDuel, Adjarabet, TVG and others.
The company will be listed in NYSE on the 29th of January and hopes to fly high like most of US competitors. This is a development showing the change of the global centre of gravity in the gambling business. It moves from the super mature Europe, to the very promising land of opportunity USA. It also shows how a great business is shot dead by communists with good intentions and capitalists with bad intentions.
Flutter’s shares will continue to trade on the LSE under the ''FLTR'' ticker. From the point of the US listing, Flutter will trade on the NYSE under ''FLUT''.
US business is now the main source of revenue for Flutter. In Q3/23, US revenue reached £668m, up 11.7%. This was also £100m more than the next highest contributor – Flutter’s UK and Ireland combined business.

I can't express any kind of sympathy for Betfair. These people are part of the problem, not a solution. I would like to see them in 3-4 years when Americans get educated. How will they play it out then?
