Hey everyone,
I have been working on a project for Positive EV betting and I was looking for good historical odds datasets for MLB Head 2 Head odds. I have found services like Odds-API and sportsdataIO, but am not sure if these are the best sites or worth the money. What suggestions does anyone have about obtaining historical odds data for MLB.

Re: Historical Betting Odds Data
I think that it depends where and when do you plan to bet.
I would start recording them right away if I were you. You will want your own recording eventually, anyway.

Hiya Rob,
As Mark Twain once said: “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails.”
That's why I support that excellent advice:
There are a lot of problems if you collect odds history from these and other sources. For example, you process old Portland Trail Blazers odds. Let's say 1991 odds, but do you know exactly the starting line-up that night, was Dražen Petrović in the team or not, what was Adelman's last idea and so on? That's why pure Statistics and Data (including historical odds) without the underlying Logic behind them are nothing.
Let me give you another possible project to realize: The IOC Executive Board has included five new sports in the LA 2028 Olympics - Cricket, Baseball-Softball, Flag-Football, Lacrosse & Squash. There are five years left in terms of gathering Data and starting your own ideas, processing them your way... Time is yours.

But if you have in-depth specialized analytical skills in several fields (e.g. Soccer, Basketball etc.) you are much better off compiling your own odds BEFORE you collect published odds (e.g. the ridiculously overpriced Don Best, SportsInsights and so on), chasing positive expected value. Let's say these are Dataset 1 (your own odds and your own Database) and Dataset 2 (external odds provider, including historical Database). Later, process them by looking for your errors, these errors are your best-dedicated teachers.
