UK based. Long time lurker first time poster here on this forum.

I started out with matched betting but turned straight to pure arbing and then value betting. The game is getting harder all the time in the UK with the incessant hand holding and bureaucracy. I am seriously considering moving to Portugal. Also have family in Colombia although have yet to properly explore opportunities there.

Full-timer for nearly 5 years now and hoping to continue adapting and making a reasonable profit.

Matched betting > arbing > value betting is the path most of smart bettors followed.
I recall some years ago (2014) a UK bettor could scoop up 14k in registration bonuses from day one. In the 00s that should be around 25k. No more easy money around.
I m sure campeones knows better (if still around) but Colombia sounds like a good chance.

I have some contacts in Portugal and yes you are right about situation.
They play mostly from Brazil.

Yes, still around. I wouldn't discharge Portugal but Colombia is still better. South America is the place to be these days.

Nowadays probably less than £1k with a whole load of KYC and responsible gambling hoops to jump through. Bookies like William Hill and 888sport are virtually impossible to sign up to these days. Meanwhille Paddy and Betfair Sportsbook will restrict you often before even placing your first bet, no matter which measures you take.

Portugal more because I am tired of the UK. It's an EU country that offers a relatively easy route to residency and citizenship post Brexit. From reading posts on here despite the heavy taxation paid by the bookies and as a result the low odds offered I have come to believe there are opportunities in Portugal although I'm not certain of this. I would still have my UK accounts to fall back on anyway if this turns out not to be the case.

As for South America I have heard a lot about Brazil but yet to figure out why Colombia is so enticing. I'm guessing for similar reasons but from what I can see the most interesting bookie that we don't have access to in the UK hasn't arrived there yet.

Back in the days (2011-12) when Greece started deregulating the national betting market, a number of extremely talented Greek bettors migrated in the UK in order to continue their operations within legal frames. It was devastating to see this human capital leaving the country, especially in a country with a heavy record of pushing talents away.

I could never imagine I could see UK bettors moving away from the country. But, it is a reality. But in the case of the UK it is not only betting, there are thousands of reasons pushing Brittons getting new passports and fatherlands. I m very sorry to see the Brexit management going that wrong.

As for the last paragraph of your last message, I am asking Campeones once again to comment.

I'm in Portugal like I said but using Brazilian accounts and I have some friends who are there who tell me that once the new legislation comes into force things will change drastically

Europe is long dead and South America, considered by many to be a gold mine, may be about to dry

Colombia is much better for betting provided that you are ready to dive deep into the mud and the sh.t. Not sure if an Englishman with the English mentality will succeed. Spoiled by easy money and a superior level of life will not allow you to dive in. We use proxies too.
