Greek Media reports that Irish Billionaires Luke and Brian Comer are about to apply for a type 2 gambling licence to the Greek gambling Commission. A type 2 licence allows for casino and live casino games. It is not clear yet of they will apply for type 1 licence that allows betting. Comer brothers are running the Loutraki casino and a number of hotels in Greece, while they are major sponsor in Galway United.

Luke Comer, a resident of Monaco for tax purposes, breeds and trains race horses in home country Ireland. In 2023 his trainer's licence was suspended for three years after twelve of his horses were tested positive for anabolic steroids.

Rumours in Greece claim there will be more licenses in 2024.
