It's a middle only if +side is bigger than the -side
For example +100.5, -97.5 and even so with 1.91 and 2.02 you are losing 2% when it doesn't hit, i won't take it.

Sorry but this is absolutly false, in your example what happens if the score is 54/45 at the first half? That's right you lose both bets...

Also, the fact that you lose 2% if your middle doesn't hit is not enough of an argument to determinate weither the middle should be taken or not.

To answer caraPan's question, yes this is a middle, but is it a good one? I am not qualified to answer that question but if you don't land your middle you lose 1.83% of total risk and if you land it, you win 93.55%. Total points at half time needs to be either 98 or 99 or 100 points in order to win both.

I think you meant 54/45 or something like this. 54/45 you win both bets. . 44/45 you win only one

Not a middle.

Easy way to find out if it is or not is to add the handicaps and if it is positive it is a middle.

-14.5 + 14 = - 0.5

This is not a middle.

-14.5 and + 14 (if the + 14 is asian handicap) leaves you with the possibility of losing one side of the arb and push/void the other side if the score is 14-0.

If the +14 is a european handicap it is equivalent to +13.5 and then a score of 14-0 would mean you lose both sides of the arb.

This could be a middle. It depends if it is a handicap or totals (over/under bet). The question did not state anything.
If it's an over/under and the match ends 10-4 (11-3 or many other scores), then -14.5 wins and +14 returns the stake.

It said -14.5 and +14 so I assumed it would be handicap bets.

If it was totals then it's different. I always use under and over when referring to totals as it's clearer.
