Arbusers

I was surprised coming across this forum as I thought arbitrage opportunities were dead. I live in Australia and I used to do promo arbitrage a few years ago, but I gave it up as most of my accounts got banned and the profit was relatively small, even then.

There are a lot of posts in this forum about price scanners and price alerts. I assume these just look for discrepancies between the odds of soft bookmakers and the Pinnacle odds. If you were to use these price scanners wouldn't your accounts quickly become heavily restricted or banned?

Are there any arbitrage opportunities left in Australia? I can't see any. From my perspective, there are only opportunities where there are minimum bet laws (raceday on Australian horse and greyhound racing). Interested to hear your thoughts.

Arbing died for me here in the U.S. as the soft books eventually banned me and I wasn't betting that big. A few hundred dollars on each side,, maybe sometimes $1,000 or more Enough to get noticed, I guess.

I quit when one book cancelled my winning side or an arb AFTER the event. Their line was off a bit but not that much. It was not a mistake as they were changing it up and down a little bit even going into the game. So, I figured, it was as if they had a team and a strategy in place just to crush and discourage arbers.

As someone posted elsewhere, the books are getting better technology to keep their odds up to date faster and they are also employing other means to root out arbers and value bettors, or just winners.

Not at all. But to get bigger than just the obvious, finding some arbs or using some sites and maybe earning £10 to £40 an hour but getting banned, you need to spend some time working things out yourself or spend a lot of time doing arbing and notice a few things. I'm looking out for some way to arb big money consistently, but haven't really found it, can only do it sometimes in some positions.

of course the arb game is not dead.....it's just a lot more difficult now for most of the old guys

a smart new guy never experienced the good old days and will make profit from arbing as long as he is good at his job

I am sure in the old days you didn't have to be nearly as smart as you do now but in my arbing career I've came across some
very clever guys and this type of guy will always find a way, they even arbed sharp against sharp, was impressive

arbing is not dead and not dead for a while yet, you just have to be talented/knlowledgable in this field, it's not for clueless
beginner or someone looking for easy money, not any more.

£30 an hour is still fairly easily up for grabs, £6 arb every 10 minutes. Although there are other better ways, and that's an incredible amount of painstaking work.

Is it possible to earn something now by playing pre-match surbes?

Pre-Match arbing still giving me exactly the same returns as 10 years ago.  And this is using solely Pinnacle, Betfair, Matchbook and Betdaq as I am banned from every sportsbook.

I enjoyed the 4 month lockdown, a really nice long battery recharge.  But betting is back full time again now, and still the same return for me.

That is very interesting. Are you saying that you are arbing using only exchanges and no soft bookmakers?

yes if you are only making small amounts then not too difficult to return to this.

you are unique guy as zero (apart from you) experienced arbers from 10 years ago can say this or even remotely close.

In my 17 years I have learnt the nuances of how markets tend to move pre-match and bet accordingly.  I guess its not strictly arbing, but it is really as I cover both sides before the match starts every time.

how could an experienced 17 year arber write this? you have just described "trading" yet you write "I guess it's not strictly arbing"
after 17 years you must have learned the difference? does not sound at all like a guy who has an edge over Pinnacle and the whole
world of betfair exchange, which you are claiming?

I have been doing this 17 years, and for the last 10 cleared at least 50k a year.

Im very happy, very grateful for the wonderful opportunity arbing has given me after having to leave my full time job back then due to severe illness.

Love the community, forums etc that encompass arbing, they are vital for the info on good and bad books, agents, services etc, and always try to click through arbusers when using a new service.

I cant share my specific betting method as it would ruin it overnight, but I wish everyone a successful career beating bookies and I have enjoyed every day betting.

there are no experienced arbers I believe apart from you who can say this, if true? you are indeed unique but I still find it a little strange that someone with a "special talent" has only been making £50k a year, making the sums you speak of for the last 10 years was "bread and butter" for an experienced UK arber of course £50k+ a year is a nice salary but with your talents you've been under achieving considerably.
