Matchbook going rogue
I'm sure everyone is aware that Matchbook had their license suspended. They are being funny with me. They locked my account, saying it was in profit, and they wanted to do enhanced due diligence checks. Asking for invasive things like proof of salary, winnings from a betting company, inheritance money, etc. I sent them a winning paper bet slip (which satisfied what they wanted according to their email), but they said it doesn't account, and they needed to see positive lifetime PL with another betting company. I can do that but it's none of their business. They are not really responding to my emails now. I guess I might have to contact the Gambling Commission and IBAS now to get it resolved, but IBAS has pretty much ceased to function (I have a pending case that hasn't been resolved for 2 years), and I know the GC is useless. I thought Matchbook were somewhat legit but with their suspension and now this, I have them down as dodgy.

I had similar experiences with them. Absolute scum will just carry on wasting your time for weeks and then make an excuse to have your account closed.
They are not an exchange but seed their own markets so end up closing winning accounts.

Same here, with something like:
"Our records show that you have made a profit on our site since joining. Even in this case we are required to undertake enhanced due diligence for the deposited amounts."
I am hesitating to ignore them ...

All this is becoming one big joke, it seems betting is on lowest point ever and even the biggest sites are behaving like some 3rd class bookies.

Re: Matchbook going rogue
Not surprised at all with what I read here.
When you have an exchange pumping its own cash in the exchange it is crystal clear they will only want to keep losing clients in their portfolio. This is the case with Matchbook as this is the case with Smarkets too. I am not 100% sure about Betfair, but they might also pump their own money in their liquidity.
So let's get into Matchbook's shoes. The maximum you are allowed to win is the commission that you generate. Obviously, they are profiling players as everyone else does and if they determine you are sucking cash out of the exchange they will shut you down.
That's life guys.

Re: Matchbook going rogue
Why would they need proof of wealth and winnings on other sites when you are winning lol. They fucked me off last year with a 40% revenue share anyway.
OP hope you get your funds back soon. Best to say you can afford to bet, and you dont arb or use any other betting site.

What if you have an account from a broker? As far as I can see Sportmarket is still offering Matchbook accounts.

Re: Matchbook going rogue
Not playing with them for quite some months and no balance there and I was also pleased with the same KYC email
but is UK regulation going to change soon due to Brexit and also UK banning football clubs of having bookies as sponsors?
I seem to have a similar KYC request from one ewallet (being verified for over 5 years)

Re: Matchbook going rogue
I'll keep people updated on my attempts to resolve this.
I know Smarkets used liquidity providers, and when I won off them, it led to very funny behaviour on my account. But I didn't know Matchbook used them. That would explain their funny behaviour towards me, because I have a winning P and L with them.

Let me sum up here. We know that:

Smarkets shuts winning accounts.
Betfair shuts winning accounts.
Betfair white labels shuts winning accounts.
Pinnacle shuts winning accounts.
All these come from cases reported by arbusers members. What an atmosphere!

Re: Matchbook going rogue
Its all about Betdaq.
To be fair I have used them a hell of a lot in the last couple of months without issue, and I have been on an insane winning streak with them too over £120K no SOW or any hassle.
And all at 0% commission, I love em right now.

Re: Matchbook going rogue
Matchbook have pretty much gone pure rogue. I provided bank statements but they keep asking for more and more ridiculous information like "we now need to establish how you will be funding any future deposits to Matchbook". I might take them to IBAS, but IBAS are pretty much useless and just side with the bookies automatically.

Re: Matchbook going rogue
I ve heard the same from other members too.
Seems to me Matchbook got scared to death with their adventures with UKGC last year.
