Sportmarket: Bets Status Failed than....LOST!

Sat Jun 04, 2022 7:23 am

Hi everyone,

On May 17, 2022 I tried to place some bets on the tennis match Otte - Baez through the pro.sportmarket platform.

I wanted to place about 200/400 euros, but seeing that the bets were all "failed", I tried to place them again several times.

Nothing to do: All my gambling attempts were unsuccessful and the money was regularly re-credited to my balance.

Incredibly, after a week, my bets "failed", were all reported as "lost" and I got a shortfall of € 2200.

I got in touch with sportmarket support, which admit there was an error in their platform:

"Matchbook assured us that bets have been placed correctly and that they have been settled as per their rules. We tried to contest this against them, but they claim there hasn't been any problems on their end and that they have no grounds to change the settlement of the bets at all.

We have also checked with Mollybet and they have said that they have found the issue and that they have fixed them.

Now, the main problem here also is that you have contacted us 2 weeks after the bets have been settled and most bookmakers have the "72h rule" where they would be willing to check and potentially change the settlement if there are reasonable grounds. After 2 weeks, it is impossible to do something like that."

how could I report the issue within 72 hours considering the bets went from failed to lost many days later?

I'm sorry because I have always felt comfortable with the sport market platform but you also need to know how to take responsibility and not download technical problems to customers.

Hi,
If the account is referred by arbusers, send us the account email via PM, and we will contact Sportmarket to see what is going on.

After the major Molly upgrade last summer, there are some similar cases, but they're hidden from the general audience. The money is not restored, and no voided positions. I believe that the brokerage firms have no fault here, they're intermediaries, but they know very well the potential problems, caused by the "glitches" of the platform (so-called mapping issues). Seems like someone in the system deeply neglected those cases, or is somehow benefited from them. The players have the right to restore their money.

Hello ,

We have checked additionally with Mollybet and these are the details (bet by bet - all bets are 200 EUR each):

124659567 (placed 17/05/2022, 13:14:43) (1)
2022-05-17 11:14:58
status placing → failed

14279492797 (placed 17/05/2022, 13:14:47) (2)
2022-05-17 11:15:18
status placing → failed

14279492778 (placed 17/05/2022, 13:14:47) (3)
2022-05-17 11:15:02
status placing → failed

124659575 (placed 17/05/2022, 13:14:51) (4)
2022-05-17 11:15:06
status placing → failed

124659582 - 14279492817 (placed 17/05/2022, 13:15:01) Placed after (1) Failed.
2022-05-17 11:15:31
status placing → failed

124659582 - 14279492793 (placed 17/05/2022, 13:15:01) Placed after (1) Failed.
2022-05-17 11:15:16
status placing → failed

124659585- 14279492826 (placed 17/05/2022, 13:15:03) Placed after (1) and (3) Failed.
2022-05-17 11:15:34
status placing → failed

124659585 - 14279492800 (placed 17/05/2022, 13:15:03) Placed after (1) and (3) Failed.
2022-05-17 11:15:19
status placing → failed

124659594 - 14279492842 (placed 17/05/2022, 13:15:18) Placed after (1)-(4) Failed.
2022-05-17 11:15:49
status placing → failed

124659594 - 14279492819 (placed 17/05/2022, 13:15:18) Placed after (1)-(4) Failed.
2022-05-17 11:15:33
status placing → failed

124659597 (placed 17/05/2022, 13:15:20) Placed after (1)-(4) and (6) and (8) Failed.
2022-05-1711:15:41
status placing → failed

This means, that first 4 bets (800 EUR) have been placed consecutively before any knowledge if the bets have been failed or not.

If we disregard the first bet, and take 2nd bet as "start" (which failed "2022-05-17 11:15:18"), all bets until the last one have been placed without knowledge if the bets have been placed or not.

From all of that said, we cannot confirm or deny how much funds you exactly wanted to place on this event, but facts presented that the number is somewhat bigger than your EUR 400 claim you wanted to have exposed on the event.

With all this said, and taking into account that Mollybet is not quite willing to share and expenses as they have the same T&C as we do - that is it always the bet with the bookmaker that counts, regardless what is shown on the platform and how bets are displayed.

Regardless of that, only fair thing we can do is offer a 400 EUR rebate for you in this case and this is very specific as we never do this, but we feel we need to partially compensate for the losses generated and circumstances occurred. Also, it is important to note that we potentially never would've known for this error if the situation happened other way around and your selection actually won, as we would NEVER be in position to take away the funds from your citing "connection issues". The bet is placed and that is all that matters in this case.

Let us know if you would accept the Bonus we have offered.

Kind Regards,

Viktor

In my opinion, sportmarket has to claim my money from mollybet (as pay for their service)

rest assured that this is not my fault and, in some way, i should have my money back

Wow disgusting...

by the way Matchbook has a history of voiding bets when someone wins big, so wouldn't surprise me if they were involved in this too.

I know someone who won 5k on a football match on Matchbook.... until Matchbook decided to void the Back bet and leave the Lay bet valid.

The guy had a Back bet at 4.0 and a Lay bet at 1.50 (traded the market), instead of winning 5k, he lost 2k.

The Back bet wasn't matched at unfair odds, it was offplay and the price was the same as on Pinnacle.
Matchbook claimed he had an unfair advantage so they voided the bet, but left the Lay bet as lost. Awful.

In my post in that thread, I have in mind mostly Matchbook's presence in Molly. Toxic combination in some cases, but someone in the betting industry's hierarchy may confirm that if she/he wants to warn the players.
