does anybody know when they want to implement this ? Or has any info?

I have read on a betting forum that they want to apply taxes only to bookmakers - 16% of their income -  since they can't follow the players profit and will ban 'unauthorised websites' until they are licensed in the country. I fear this tax will result in lower odds for the bookmakers which will have a license..

I cannot answer that since I do not know the law. Anyway, I have read in the article that this authority is planning to work with the ISPs to not allow access to these 'unauthorized sites'. I hope the changes which they will make will not have negative effects on players.

The darkest version would to happen like in Germany where Betfair is banned and they have a tax. There is someone who suggested a 10% tax on online betting to finance sport, the Olympic committee boss:

You are mistaken the single thing that is against EU is that they need a server in the country.If the bill will apply (it will but let's hope they will move slow you know how the Romanian goverment moves) the bookies will just pass the tax to the players just like in germany.

well if they do that, arbing will be at the end I guess. I am wondering if agents are included in these 'unauthorized websites'.
