The Dinosaurs

Thu May 19, 2022 9:32 am

We wanted to see how many of the founding members are still around. So I searched the first 100 members of our forum who were registered back in 2010-11 and 17 of them are still around visiting our forum in 2022. I am surprised as I was expecting a much lower figure to tell you the true.
Very generally, the year that most of founding members stopped visiting our forum was 2021.

First of all, congrats for your appreciation regarding the first members on the Forum. Those people may return someday, but when the site owner is mentioning them, they will feel that the contribution here is on a deeper level.

Probably your marketing department may research why some of them are visiting that website or most of them aren't. Could you send them a private message (not guaranteed they enter the website) or much better to send e-mails to them - a quick survey? In that survey, if it is possible, in my view, there must have to be some fields, where the possible answers aren't predefined, i.e. personal impressions of these members you've targeted about:
- the website quality,
- their recommendations toward you,
- others.

In my opinion, no matter if she/he is a very active visitor to that website or not, if a forum member is finding cover some of its criteria here, will be back soon. I mean the following - your survey might result in a more vast view of members' needs distribution (as of 2022, not only the old but the new members as well):
- Some of them are simply chattin' about some things, something like a large renovated Rest and Funny Area on that site may be appropriate for them, and further if they are welcomed, gradually may evolve on higher levels, contributing here.
- Some accidentally come across into the forum (due to SEO, Google, etc). How is their attention to be held?
- Newcomers, willin' to learn - new articles in the Portal, plus a more attractive subsection to them on the forum maybe?
- Newcomers in basic entry-level, something like "average Joe" type persons. Imagine similar people watching PAO or AEK and very laughable agencies like Interwetten are spotted by them during the Soccer match, and asking something here. I know, the forum is on a very high level, but every person, at the beginning of his business career, wasn't so skilled, OK? Is it possible to create some articles in the Portal / subsections on the Forum, appropriate for them? Combined with advertising and games, of course. One day, when these people will be more skilled, they will be grateful for the education and for the communication related to their level so far, and maybe become good contributors here on the forum someday, when evolving in that business on a further level.
- High-level skilled people - may be slightly renovated/updated subsections here, or something attractive for them? Why some of them do not write here anymore, why some of them write less or more?
Is possible some slightly modified kind of ThinkTank subsection possible for those people, provided that they are willin' to share opinions and advice with others? Are there many people of that kind here on the forum? If not, why aren't they welcomed? If yes, how to attract them on a deeper level?
Are there some egoistic persons, not willing to contribute and share much knowledge - what form of site/portal/forum subsection may attract them or connect them to each other? That may result in more forum presence on their side. That way, all the forum/portal members will be benefited from the presence and communication/sharing of ideas between very high-leveled skilled people of any kind, if they're more welcomed here.
- Everyone will salute star guest contributors in the Portal and on the Forum, like the most famous persons in some areas, such as Maths /Statistics/ Finance/ Forex/ Philosophy/ Sporting metrics science/ Proven famous successful pro-bettors and so forth.
- Is the Forum presence of the supported agents here on a top-notch level accordin' to the forum members' view? I mean, everyone has spotted some threads, when the problems are unanswered or neglected in some way by the agents. And when the forum member spot that behavior, and when she/he remembers a similar experience in her/his business, the combination is not good for the business at all - neither for the agent nor for the player. Pavlov's dog knows that nobody helps it, only its money must be stolen. Here I mean only those cases when the authors in the threads are not cheaters!

You're among the best, go further, above and beyond the loyal forum members' expectations. :)

Just my 2 cents, nothin' more.

Thank you for the long list of suggestions. Much appreciated.
I wanted to mention that GDPR is tying our hands in many aspects and since we are based and operating within countries that signed the GDPR agreements we have to comply and, as we always did, respect member's rights to the fullest extremes.
I have a personal connection with many of our members. I personally met more than 100 members during these last 12 years and we more or less understand the trends and general situation.
We will scrutinise your suggestions to see what we can extract.
Thank you once again.
