The "life" of an arb.

Thu May 30, 2013 7:07 pm

So i have been lurking around for some time checking out free alert services and using trials of different pro alerts.
From what i saw reading this forum so far, arbs tend to disappear quite fast, thus the "you have to be fast" requirement to be a good arber.
Yet while i was testing those alert services i saw plenty of good healthy 2-3% arbs that stay up and available for 2-3 hours. Is there something I have to consider about those arbs or it is just something normal?

It depends on what you mean with ''healthy arbs''.

Arbs that does not seem like obvious palps. Arbs that have similar odds(slightly lower) with other bookies aswell etc.. :)

OK the definition is correct, but give us an example of these healthy arbs waiting there for some hours.

HJK-KuPS
Soccer Finland Veikkausliiga
Game is after 2 days.

E1(-1) - H2(+1.5)
E1 - was at 2.20 (paddypower)
H2 - was and still is at 1.971 (pinnacle)
3.96% arb. Just an exemple from the very last minutes.

After 3 hours now the E1 bet is down to 2.10 and still results as a 1.67% arb.

This is a legitimate arb. One explanation could be that Paddy doesn't really allow anyone to bet very much on that line. So instead of lowering their odds they lower the max bet allowed. That way a sqaure player could still get a good price on that event while many arbers wouldn't bother with the low limits.

If your roof is 10 euros, then all bookmakers are good for you.
