Re: The World Cup 2022 chit chat
Not to belittle the work of the coaches and players of the so-called "pre-match underdogs", but the "surprises" in a few days became many... Hope you all took the precautionary actions in your business...

It is always like this in the 2nd games of the group stages. The 3rd games are well anticipated and bettors are very careful. I do not expect this WC to have a predetermined game as all eyes and ears are on this.

Re: The World Cup 2022 chit chat
Some personal impressions:
Paulo Bento is helpless to remove the moments where some naive style of play emerges for a while alongside the hard and quality work on the pitch for South Korea. Here I exclude Son Heung-Min, who is playing more maturely here that way, as in the EPL. Interestingly, Ulsan Hyundai and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors are performing more maturely in the K1 League and the Asian Champions League.
Predators like Ghana wait for this behavior to eliminate opponents in no time.
Zico did his best to eliminate the moments when players fell for this naive style when he managed the Japan team in the past.

Who actually took Australia to the next round? Graham Arnold or Sir Anthony Hopkins?

Re: The World Cup 2022 chit chat
In case you're wondering about Japanese goalkeeper Gonda Shūichi, who saved at least 7 or 8 goals against Germany and made good matches lately, he's one of the best players (in terms of Stats and quality performance on the pitch) in Shimizu S-Pulse (recently relegated to J2). Unfortunately, that player isn't a participant in the Asian Champions League.

England and france joint favs in the quarter final match betting. In the outright market france 3.95 and england 5.00. How strange.

Re: The World Cup 2022 chit chat
Congrats to Argentina for lifting the well deserved trophy.
Congrats to the almost immortal France for the 2nd place.
I watched all World Cup finals since 1982. The 2022 final was the best final I can remember.
The World Cup was one of the best, probably the 3rd after Mexico86 and Russia18.
It is well understood that money plays a role in all sports, football is no exception. But there must be a limit to what money can buy. Football is the sport we inherited from our fathers, and we owe it to the boys we played with in our youth. This must be inherited to the next generations as a trait of character and sportsmanship. I m not optimistic. I see bad people running the sport.
Lastly, there is something called human rights. I believe all people are equal and that includes women too. By questioning universal values, we question human civilisation as a whole.
I hope we all enjoyed the sport.

It was the most boring final until 80th minute , that's ridiculous to see a team like France doing 1st shot (off target) at 70th minute.
After 80th minute, it was really the most beautiful and entertaining one.
