It is a mistake judging Russia and Russians with western standards.
You have to read and understand Dostoyevsky, Orthodoxy, and geopolitics before having a very general opinion on them.

Re: War in Ukraine?
1) Finland asks to be NATO member.
2) UK made an agreement to defend Finland against military actions.
3) Russia said that Finland decision is casus belli.
If everyone do what they say, we have a war between NATO and Russia.
Finland prime minister decision is absolutely stupid. Finland was neutral and safe for 80 years. Change the status will put her country in a big risk, and will push the whole continent to war.
Stupid and unnecesary decision.

Re: War in Ukraine?
This is the best decision. You don't understand Russians at all. You can't negotiate with them, they see only weakness in that. They will break any agreement if it suits them. You have to show strength and unity.CharlieSheen99 wrote: ↑Thu May 12, 2022 9:28 pm1) Finland asks to be NATO member.

He said that he would cut the gas, and it's done.
He said that he would not accept NATO approaching.
A few years ago, the US withdrew from a medium-range arms treaty, after that, Russia did the same.
He said that Finland decision implies the war, and he will keep his word.
Putin is a psychopath, and Finland's decision can only be seen as a provocation.
Now it is too late to show strength, when we have been showing weakness for years.
In my opinion, we should trade NATO's rapprochement for an end to the war and Russia's withdrawal from Ukrainian territory.
At the same time, we should look at us as well. Even my country, Spain, participated in the war of Irak some years ago. And after 20 years, the country is devastated. We are not the best to givelessons about invading soreveign countries. We did a lot of things wrong. And with the eyes of Putin, if we do one thing, we allow him to do the same. He acts against the west as a mirror.
Re: War in Ukraine?
I understand Putin. That's why I said in this post, that there would be a war. I was watching at him so close for years. And he knows perfectly who are in front of him. We are weakness. Look at Biden. This guy is old, and senile, and should be in a residence. Not at the controls of the empire. Listen, Vladimir Putin allways fullfilled what he says.

Re: War in Ukraine?
UK will send 80-100km missils to Ukraine. Another stupid decision. Boris Johnson, puts his own country in risk. At the same time, Macron said that we cannot humiliate Russia. More stupid words full of ego. Listen Macron, you cannot humiliate a country much more powerful and large than yours.
I think that soon or later this missils will reach Russian cities in the border, because Ukraine now is a complete caos. And there are a lot of corruption and mafias right now, doing commerce with EU arms, among other worst things.
Everyday we are close to the third nuclear weapon launched in the history.
Russia can't lost this war. A lot of people and, a lot of interests are in play. They need to force the negotiations. Their country and their lifes are in risk. They have much more to lose than us. And they have to win, because if not, they will have to pay for the damage on Ukrainian cities and their government will be judged. Or Putin forces a new statu quo, or Putin will be defeated. If i have to bet, i bet for the first option.
I think that this war will last for some years. No one wants this war to finish. Except the ukrainians.

Re: War in Ukraine?
The beginning of the end for Russia. Mark my words:
1. They will lose the war.
2. Putin will go to the cesspool of history, and will be replaced by another member of the ''family''.
3. Massive brain flight from Russia.
4. Tolstoy and Dostoevsky proved comets in the Russian eternal dark.
5. Other barbarians, pseudo dudes and rogue states take the lesson.
6. China emerges as the titan of the non western word.
In the end, the one that hurts the most will be Russian people who never learn their lesson. In fact, as Solzhenitsyn put it at the end of the 1st book of Gulag Archipelago, they are the only responsible for what is inflicted to them.

We are in IIIWW.
We need to wait some months to see bombs falling in NATO countries.
This war will change world face forever.

Re: War in Ukraine?
Are you drunk or on drugs? Russia lost this war already. There wont be any "bombs", first one sent to NATO country and YOUR funny Russia you try to defend in every post is done, will be erased from ASIA map in few hours (cause they are not suppose to be called "europeans" based how they treat innocent people in Ukraine). War is war, can be understand but no matter what you need to treat people with dignity, your barbarian country dont even know what it is.CharlieSheen99 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 4:09 pmWe are in IIIWW.

Putin can't back down.
Zelensky can't back down.
No one wants this war to finish.
And you are wrong about the use of nukes. Macron, Biden and Truss will never press the red bottom. You cannot say the same about Putin.
War crimes allways happens in wars. Because one day you lost a friend, or a brother, or whatever...., and hate starts to fill up your heart. Even the best guy in the world, after some months or years of war becomes crazy and start to do a lot of things that he would never have done under normal conditions.
Tell me one war without what we call war crimes?
War means crime, violence, rape, torture.... I don't say that there is no dignity in wars, but normally is the opposite.
About defend Russia. I admire Russian people. that's truth. They defeated nazis (the real ones) almost alone in the last WW. They put 30 million deaths on the field, when all Europe supported Hitler, or fascists regimes. So, STOP to treat Russian people as enemies of the free word, or war criminals, or whatever. Every European Country has a debt with them. In 1991 Comunists were defeated, not russians. This is a big difference.
I think that, without the existence of NATO, this war would never have happened.
We have to understand that 30 armies together inspires fear to others.
What is your solution? They don't want NATO missils in their borders. This is the same case than Cuba, but in the other side. If Cuba was a threat for US, why baltics, Finland, Georgia and Ukraine is not a threat for Russians?

I think that Russia cannot lose this war. If they lost, Putin will be defeated, and all his government can be pursued. I think that they will use everything they have to force negotiations in any way or another. This includes nukes.AlexNotman1 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 4:22 pmAre you drunk or on drugs? of course charliesheen999 just wants a reaction, he is praising Russia, he is forecasting Nuclear armageddon, he is being controversial for the sake of it but he is writing words where he must truly hope he is wrong?
Re: War in Ukraine?
this is a not a sensible statement, any attack on Nato would be political suicide, if not actual suicide for Putin, do you not think that Russia and the USA are in constant contact about the use of Nuclear weapons? Russia would not dare use nuclear weapons, even China would then turn on them, Putin has backed himself into a corner and is trapped and attacking Nato or using nuclear weapons are both options that would result in his demise, he is a survivor, my guess is he will survive this war and claim any sort of victory to the gullible russian people even though since the war nothing has gone to plan, it's been a total disaster for Putin and I am sure he wishes he could turn back the clock, he will continue to lie to his people and claim success, even after this war comes to an end, he will be a much weakened leader and the end of his political career and his sidekicks medvedev, lavrov etc will come sooner than later.CharlieSheen99 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 4:09 pmWe are in IIIWW.

Re: War in Ukraine?
In my view, any support to Russia's actions in Ukraine is insane. There is no rhetoric that would credibly encompass an invasion. That of course includes every country that challenges peace and the border's status quo. Let's not forget, there are 2 countries in Europe that illegally invaded and occupied land from other European sovereign states. These are Russia and Turkey.
