Have you ever had an account canceled and the balance retained by the bookmaker?

Is this the new hack of smart gambling?

Have you ever had an account canceled and the balance retained by the bookmaker?

Sun Jan 21, 2024 10:56 pm

Hello, how are you?
After my first profits, I withdrew from some bookmakers. One of them, called Bodog, quite famous and large, respected and considered reliable, when I made my withdrawal request, the next day they canceled my account and canceled my withdrawal request. I contacted them and they told me that I won't be able to withdraw my account balance. Have you ever had an experience like this? Does this happen often? If so, I'm out.
Can anyone help me how I can somehow reverse this situation, isn't it illegal of them to take our money?

Did they provide and justification for their actions? Obviously this is not the norm.
Bodog is not what it used to be in the 00s.
In general, if you want a course of action against a bookmaker, have a look here: portal/how-to-take-legal-action-against-a-bookmaker/

They claimed I had a duplicate account, which violates the house's policy terms. But that's not a plausible justification and it's not even correct. The account I was using was in my wife's name and data. The other account I had was in my name and with my details. It was pure scam. I'm trying to reverse the situation, but I'm not very hopeful.

Well , I guess that's really '' level 1 '' work for their account verification team or whatever department took the decision to close your account .

You used the same IP address to access both your account and your wife's , probably the same betting pattern and amounts as well. Not to mention the fact that the betting industry is generally preoccupied against womens' accounts.

But in case they had any doubt , they probably went ahead and checked your socials as well and saw a common photo with your wife. So they were 99.9% sure you were the same guy using both accounts.
